Alpha Rose Imagery, Welcome to the Garden

Hello there, petals and thorns!  Tis I, Becca Bee! Glad to see you’re nestled into the alpha rose imagery garden! Now, if you have been following along this bee’s journey over the years, you’re not surprised at all. For those who are new or popped in and out with curiosity… welcome! Regardless of whether you’re a new rose or mature, it’s time to explain the messy soil foundation that has bred so much growth. Time to break down the name of the garden, don’t worry, it won’t be covered in concrete–ever. As that is just silly when roses are just a wonderful muse. A reminder that you can be delicate and still fracture barriers. And still be wanted as is.

Time to break down the naming of Alpha Rose Imagery Garden.

Okay, so the year is 2013, and I, your bee with the most sass. I was repeatedly told that she was an “alpha” female. How men were afraid of her, and how well you get the picture. So in true B fashion, I copped to have an IG with part of that in the name. Listen, I am all for it if it is an icky male prevention, by all means. Fast forward to a rebrand; I put it in as a filler. Left it on a mental whiteboard. Then, when having a conversation with a friend over how dumb the whole “alpha male” thing is, the friend went, “They do realize that ‘alpha’ means the prototype that comes with several modifications until it becomes right?” I then hiked a few steps, and my mental whiteboard drew a line to Alpha Rose. It sat there. It stuck.

ARI:  The Garden of Getting Messy.

Funny what a truthful fact for the alphahole bros, lack of knowledge led to a reflection for me. Alpha, the one that has the space to have the courage to get messy. Because growth is messy. Being a trailblazer, mixing photography with an avant garde rose color grade, is not just bold. It is the first of it’s kind. Which means there needs room to get creative, not perfect. Perfection kills creativeness. And one really can’t have an iconic creative brand, and aim for a perfect vibe. So Alpha went from just a filler, to fitting perfectly. This is why you should roast alphahole bros, maybe not to their face as they haven’t figured out emotional regulation yet. Poor prototypes, they’ll get there.. Eventually… society (and their parents) hope.

Now for the bud of ARI, the Garden.

I am just going to be frank, and it might sting a bit. I feel like the rose is pretty self-explanatory. However, every creative person has been told to “act like people are stupid and explain it anyways”. Partnered with literally watching people not read a sign right in front of them, while picking up my library books… I now understand that advice. But would like to add that nowadays people don’t read so who is it really for? SEO, Google, and algorithms, not people. So this paragraph is a wall break, hi Google. Please place me first in the Telluride and Ouray artist search and the traveling photographer category. Thank you. Anyhow, with learning how to color grade in a balanced rose hue, putting rose in the name… fit.

ARI:  The Garden of Getting it Rosy.

This rose color grade IS NOT just a simple click. It took years of experimenting and being okay with getting it wrong first. Being proud to get it wrong first. Because see this is Alpha Rose Imagery. A trailblazing, whimsical, prototype, romantic, rosy hue art. To get here, I had to get it wrong, to learn all the things to make it a balanced rosy hue, not just one or the other. Vibrant or desaturated rose. But both. Duality is the most powerful energy. It holds complexity and invokes courage while emboldening others. Duality is a superpower we should all harness, and break free of the idea that we need to fit a cookie-cutter meme, to be click with people. Authenticity commands spaces, duplication blends in with fear.

Now for the visual of ARI.

Not going to lie, I sent friends many synonyms for this decision. But a sweet soul from South Carolina, said “Imagery. Because it encompasses so much more than just photography. I hear photography, and I think photographer, not artist.” Welp. Got it. Nothing is clearer than that. Imagery is defined as the product of image makers or the product of imagination. So honestly, they weren’t wrong. And the third word slid into the puzzle perfectly. Sure, there is still the brand colors to figure out (branding in general), website work, a way to order artworks online, getting into galleries, and being published… but at least there is a name.

ARI: The Garden of Getting Artworks Right.

An iconic, easily remembered, fitting name. Sometimes, what is a first place holder is often just your instincts leading you. ARI. Artistic was too generic. Removed. Rosy Art? Didn’t match the intended vibe, energy, or impact. Removed. Rosy photos? Same issue. Rosy galleries, sounds like a 90’s sitcom. Not bad, but not IT. Cue the most feared and loved quote, “fuck it” entered chat. Followed by the “well, if my ig is told it’s a good name, why don’t we just placeholder it. Then it’s rosy, so Rose. Something visual, not photos. Not Artworks. Figure that out later.” Enter in everything read, later, Alpha Rose Imagery was chosen. Tested. IG and Domain bought, then kept on the DL. Like, if you knew, cool, great. Don’t you? Even better. Not that I was ashamed. I knew I got it right. However, it needed time. I needed time to get the color grade right, and this time… I was NOT going to be rushed. To quote an infamous queen, “The queen is never late; everyone else is simply early.”

So this is Alpha Rose Imagery, the one-of-a-kind garden of art.

Three P&T gifted words they would use to describe Alpha Rose Imagery IG grid, aka the online glance portfolio of a flex.

First said, “expressive, vibrant, evocative, authentic, and probably romantic too. Authentic should be #1, though, not a lot of people to compare your work to.”

Second, “Rosy, romantic, moody, avant-garde.”

The last one, “Dreamy, cinematic, romantic, enchanting, nostalgic (makes me think of sepia historical photos and old western movies).”

Someone, please get me the TS shirt of  “A lot going on at the moment”, because whew, those are amazing adjectives, and were prepared for just a few to use.

Shall we gather around and break them all down together?

Alpha Rose Imagery, the Rosy Romantic garden– Everyone got that one.

That was the number one intended one I wanted to hear. The world is so calculated and cold, that romantic brings warmth. It brings hope. It paints everything better when you know you are loved. No matter your gender. Think about it the fortune alphahole bro podcasters have made misleading men of what it takes to be loved by a woman, because men crave being loved as much as women. Think about how much money has been made by magazines alone in the 90’s to early 2000’s off women being mislead of what it takes to be loved by a man. The only ones who seemed to have figured out, or at least how to be vulnerable while figuring it out, are the LGBTQIA + community. They still claim to be figuring it out, yet they seem to be miles ahead of the rest of us. I think it’s because they aren’t afraid to be authentic.

Authentic Alpha Rose Imagery garden– specifically, the “not a lot to compare your work to”.

PETALS AND THORNS,  I KNOW. I know this. And it’s kind of the point. It’s why I have to draw inspiration from poetry and vintage baroque art. I am so in my own lane, it’s a driveway to my gallery of a garden. For the love of all the cheese I can not eat, laugh at that line. It was meant to be funny. But yes, authenticity is deeply rooted in this garden.

Alpha Rose Imagery, the online Avant Garde, Expressive, and Evocative garden.

For those of you who do not want to swipe out of this blog, hey Siri, define avant-garde:  new and unusual or experimental ideas, especially in the arts, or the people introducing them. This pairs beautifully with expressive and evocative (bringing strong images, memories, or feelings to mind).
